Linzi Stoppard & FUSE switch on Jermyn Street Lights in London's West End and Perform...
Fuse gave a live performance before and after the switch-on as the classically-trained musicians created an electric atmosphere and flicked the switch to illuminate a series of magical reflective stars.
Linzi Stoppard & Ben Le are FUSE.When they perform they bring their distinctive sound to their audience, using the same elements to reproduce the experience live - once again setting FUSE worlds apart from all other string acts and in the process rewriting the tired stereo-type, breaking old records and setting new ones. Linzi's profile on Google
Yep, I've just found it - here: http://www.google.com/profiles/linzistoppard -
And here's a snippet from the lady herself:
Linzi Stoppard (FUSE), is one of the most exciting and edgy electric violin artists, who pushes the boundaries of musical convention with her passionate, live sets of rock, dance and contemporary melodies. Linzi Stoppard has transfixed audiences the world over with her performances on the electric violin. Each live set sees musical influences from The Stones through to Cafe del Mar bursting to life through the electric strings and a bow that she wields like a magic wand.
Her musical success began in her late teens she was then spotted by two music producers who convinced her to front and record Tattoo of Pain (vocals/electric violin) which was a spin off from cult American group “Lords of Acid”. This led to record deals around the world including EMI Europe, Avex Trax and Never Records, followed up by tours in the States, Europe and Japan.
After the success of the alternative album she looked for a more commercial sound and formed Babe Instinct recording "Disco Babes From Outer Space" (UK top 20 hit, Positiva, EMI) and follow up “Fade To Grey” which was a dance hit across Europe and featured on numerous compilation albums including Ministry of Sound’s The Annual.

Have you seen the latest Stoppard play? She rocks!
Linzi Stoppard: £1million record deal
When Linzi Stoppard - daughter-in-law of playwright Sir Tom Stoppard - was dragged to her first violin lesson at the age of four, her mother Jenny hoped she might be the next Yehudi Menuhin.
But now the 30-year-old leggy violinist has fulfilled a rather more rock 'n' roll dream. Her band, FUSE, in which she plays alongside fellow violinist Ben Lee, have signed a £1 million recording deal with rock label Edel, whose roster of artists include Stevie Wonder, Prince and Deep Purple.
'My mum would have preferred me to go down the classical route - that's why she got me into violin - but we wanted to sign to a rock label,' says Linzi.
'My dad was into the Rolling Stones, and when I was 20 I realised I could make the electric violin sound like a guitar, and combined the two Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1196127/Speaker-pay-Tory-donor.html#ixzz0ORz498Q0

Linzi and FUSE perform at Fortune Forum in Monaco
"The party atmosphere was definitely lacking in Monaco this year for Fund Forum. Numbers were down and the usual lavish entertainment had been credit crunched. Still, the organisers professed themselves pleased with the turnout, and with the numbers of chief execs who turned up to sit on panels or address the conference. Some providers were still doing things in style, but they were mostly the asset servicing arms of the banks. I enjoyed an evening at a swanky hotel by the sea courtesy of BNY Mellon, including a performance by electric violin duo Fuse. It was just right for Monaco!"

Rock Electric Violin Duo FUSE Sign Groundbreaking Record Deal
Ben Lee and Linzi Stoppard are FUSE, the rock prince and princess of the violin world. Today at the InterContinental London Park Lane they have signed a global record deal with edel Record.
FUSE are original and unique - they aren’t classical violinists, they are rock violinists, pioneering a new unique musical sound for a traditionally classical instrument.
They will release their 12 track debut album “Glorious”, co-produced by FUSE, later this summer. This is the first time in a long time a UK string act has signed a major deal to a pop/rock label through "traditional" channels.
Ben and Linzi met in 2006. Having both had successful live performance careers, they decided to merge their talents and form FUSE, a one-of-a-kind, glamorous rock, boy-girl electric violin duo.
When Ben and Linzi set out to break the mould and push the boundaries they realised they had two choices: to be followers or to show the way with initiative. The latter was the only real option.
While following their instincts the band recognised their competition had all failed to conquer the same conundrum - how does a new violin act avoid sounding exactly the same as the one before?
Other string acts call themselves ‘electric’, but often record using acoustic instrument or with no effects limiting them sonically. This narrow path leads to most violin / cross-over string acts covering the same music again and again and in the same style.
Not so with FUSE – the answer to the conundrum was a fresh progressive approach using the most up to date techniques, original guitar valve amps, sonic processors and of course their bespoke gold Bridge electric violins - the FUSE sound was born.
More importantly through these original methods the instrument comes alive like never before opening up a whole new genre of music – ROCK!
Edel is a major player in the music industry that can proudly boast a roster of legendary artists including Stevie Wonder, The Police, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Deep Purple, The Jam and Kiss.
Linzi Stoppard said: "We're proud and excited to have the platform we've always wanted to help our music reach a wider audience. It’s been a while in the making and this deal recognises our hard work and belief that our innovative style will light the way for a new generation of rock violinists."
Ben Lee said: "After touring and recording for other bands it's great to get my own sound out there."

The first ever all Arab fashion event in Europe was staged at London’s InterContinental Hotel in Park Lane last night (April 6th 2009), under the title: ’Arabian Fashion World’.
The one-day fashion showcase was in association with Arab British Chamber of Commerce, Austrian Airlines, and Hia Magazine.
The stunning show featured five acclaimed Arab designers that included: Amina Al Jassim, from Saudi Arabia, Abed Mahfouz from Lebanon, Rabia Z from the United Arab Emirates, Samira Haddouchi from Morocco and Omar Kashoura from Jordan, who is based in the UK.
The Arab fashion industry is a fast emerging global business with highly talented designers such as Elie Saab taking the world stage.
The show was produced by top European fashion show producer Lesley Goring and choreographer, Ian Mills with make up by Carol Brown and hair by L’Oreal Professionnel’s international ambassadors Royston Blythe and his partner Nick Malenko.
A highlight of the evening was an electronic violin performance by Fuse, featuring Linzi Stoppard (daughter-in-law of Oscar winning playwright Sir Tom Stoppard) and Ben Lee, performing the theme music of Lawrence of Arabia and paying a special tribute to its composer Oscar winning Maurice Jarre, who died last week age 84.

Linzi in the plays with FUSE in the New Year's Day Parade
Linzi plays to Gordon Brown and Boris Johnson in the New Years Day Parade:
The daily mail covers the story >>
A sleeping beauty
As the clock struck midnight last night, one person already tucked up in bed was stunning violinist Linzi Stoppard. For the daughter-in-law of playwright Sir Tom Stoppard is preparing to play to an audience of 1.5 million, including Gordon Brown and London mayor Boris Johnson, at a televised gig outside the Ritz in Piccadilly as part of London's New Year's Day parade.
Linzi told me yesterday: 'There will be no New Year's Eve for me. I have to rehearse with my band all day and then be up early next morning. But I don't mind. It's a thrilling way to start what will be an incredible year for us.'
The 29-year-old's group, Fuse, will open the event with a Jimi Hendrix-style God Save The Queen. 'They asked us to do the National Anthem - but we want to do something a bit different,' said Linzi.
